About Us

Hershey is a small, quiet, close-knit community in west central Nebraska approximately one mile north of Interstate 80.  Hershey has a population of approximately 665 residents.  We are the home of the Hershey Panthers.  The last weekend in August we hold our Hershey Fall Festival.

Our History

Hershey was named after J.H Hershey a pioneer settler.  Hershey was platted (2 blocks) in 1892 and incorporated in 1909.

Hershey is closely connected with Union Pacific Railroad, as four of their main lines run through the center of town.  Hershey's old train depot is now located at Cody Park in North Platte.
